My First Time in Thailand

Hello...Guys, as usual in this post I'll tell you about my experience on traveling and share some beneficial information for you who wanna create your own journey and traveling story. November be my best month in this year, because of what? Because one of my dreams is achieved namely going abroad, and...the country which I will visit first is Thailand. Have you ever dreamed to visit Thailand and make it as the first list of your wish journey? Honestly, I interest with Thai Culture but I do not take it on the first list of my dreams because I think it's rather similar with Indonesia....but I can say that my perspective is changing since I visit this country. Maybe, I'm falling in love with Thailand.

Shortly, I have the honour to represent my faculty to do an exchange with one of the best agricultural university from Thailand. It was surprising since I realize that I've dream to visit Kasetsart University. Now, the chance in sight. And inside my mind, it just ringing a row of photos of Thailand sights and imagine myself take photos with background the Buddhist temple such as Grand Palace or Wat Arun temple. I can't be patient for that! :D

Day by day...we pass it with all effort started by creating a proposal, booking the ticket, exchange the money, and take care of administrative needs. And finally, my lecturer named Mr. Soni said that we will go on November 2, 2017, and he commanded us to check all preparation and get ready to go Thailand. Wowwww.... Thailand.. I will come and see you only a few hours later. <3

I'm not sleep for the night because I must finish my homework first and I'm not want to lose my chance because of getting up late. Our journey started at Brawijaya University at 2 am and the car carried us to the International Airport of Djuanda in Surabaya. During the journey, I use my time for sleeping. Finally, we arrived at the Djuanda Airport and took care our ticket, then waited until the flight schedule comes. The most interesting from my journey is... I will visit Bali too as my transit destination. It will happen on 4 hours, so I should maximize this moment. So, now government of Indonesia makes cooperation with Government of Thailand to create flight path directly from Bali to Bangkok, and the otherwise Bangkok to Bali. Shortly, my journey from Surabaya was very good and nice and I landed on Bali in 8 a.m. This is my first experience to visit Bali, because of the airport location near with Kuta Beach--the world know it because of its beautiful wave. So I decided toy go Kuta Beach first for taking some photos and enjoying the scenery.

Yeah, it was very super great experiences when you can get double wish destination in only one flight. :D This is my first time to go Bali also, so now I can tell everybody that I have ever felt the sand of Kuta beach hehe. This trip to Bali is ended with having lunch at the street food store near Kuta Beach.

Actually, it's not enough to only visit Kuta Beach during in Bali. But.. It's worth as transit location because I can feel the peace of Bali in my heart. Next time, when I visit Bali again I should know more about other tourism place such as Subak, Tanah Lot, etc.

Next, we continue the journey to the Don Mueang Airport in Bangkok. The flight will take the time about five hours from Bali International Airport. My heart beat increases, my mind ringing and it releases all of my imagination about Thailand, from the temple, culture, food, and anything.

Some hours later, finally we are arrived in Thailand about 5 p.m. This is my first experience to take care of immigration documents.  Maybe there's litle bit mistakes while the process, first point I always focus on my camera and take the photos while the imigration process happens. Second, I not realised if there yellow line as the sign to queued so I break it and received a reprimand from my lecturer to step back from the line. My lecturer also advice me to not show the phone moreover take the picture. He said if I act too over, the security guards can suspect on me.

After arriving in Don Mueang, we booked the car to carry us to the hotel. During the journey, I just amazed and not believe that I am in Thailand now. I see outside, the city light and the glowing sky scrapper in the night.

Finally, we arrived in our hotel. Our hotel located in 39 Sukhumvit Rd, Khwaeng Khlong Tan Nuea, Krung Thep Maha Nakhon 10110, Thailand. The hotel was really nice, located in little Tokyo in Bangkok. So I can find many Japanese store here such as second hand store, food stall even Japan massage and Karaoke hehe.
This is the atmosphere location near our hotel
Food street along the road

Although the long journey we have passed, but it doesn't discourage us to explore Bangkok in the night. Maybe the flight causes us tired, but our curiosity breaks it to explore more about our location now.

My stomach rumbled with hunger. Understandably, because we have not eaten since this morning. So, my lecturer decides to go outside to look for the food. And, we visit street food stall near the hotel.
There a lot of kinds of foods here. There's food made of pork, chicken, and seafood. So seldom to find beef here. But don't worry, if you're moslem and want to look for the halal food, you can choose the food made from seafood such as Tom Yum. ;) One baht here equal with 415 Rupiahs. So, I just feel that my foods was very cheap because the nominal was very small. But actually this is rather expensive especially the Tom Yum. The price of Tom Yum is 100 Baht, so it's equal with Rp 40.000. Believe me, in Indonesia I can use it for 3-4 times of eat hehe. Of all the food there was not complete without drink, and the most favorite one is..... Thai tea. I'm falling in love with Thai Tea. My friends named Yaman avows that he able to drink Thai tea 3-4 times in a day during our activities in Thailand. Hehe. Every time and everywhere, when we try to eat Thai culinary the drink is still Thai tea. You should taste it!
This is our beloved menu tonight. There's Tom Yum Gung,
Seafood Fried Rice, Mango Sticky Rice, and Thai Tea.

And... my life was completed by this special one: Mango Sticky Rice. You can imagine how delicious the taste is... Yummy...

Yeah.. this night was so special. You can feel the atmosphere of the uniqueness of Thailand in the night. From the street food, the people, the culture, even if you can more understand it, you will feel the soul of this country.

We continue our walking trip around this location. In Bangkok... you can see "Tuk tuk" everywhere a.k.a traditional public transportation of Thailand. After that, we back to our hotel, prepare to sleep and get fresher condition for tomorrow because our activity will be crowded until the next week. During in my room, I can't sleep, I talk to my friend that I'm very grateful here and can't imagine what beautiful experiences that we will live forward. It's about 1.30 a.m. And I'm believe tomorrow will be more beautiful than today.

To be continued...
